Is it possible to use video to boost your SEO? It certainly is! Whether you are a local business in Sydney with video content looking to attract local business or appeal to a wider audience then this is for you.

The trick is to make sure you are uploading all of your video content to Youtube. Youtube is the world’s second-largest search engine after Google. It’s so much more than just cat videos and vloggers. Think about the number of times you have had a problem that you were looking to solve. You may have even typed that problem into GoogleThe top hits on the front page are more than likely to be videos! Now think about if you are an answer to a certain customer’s problems. What if your business holds the solution? They will search for an answer and voila! Who pops up on the first page? You! Not just once though, oh no, you will be all over that first page because you have been consistently posting content. Now that can be a daunting thought, to try and keep posting consistently. But, if you have been following these blogs then you will know that I say it is all about shooting bulk content.

When it comes to the filming, shoot as much as possible in a day. My record so far is 25 videos and that wasn’t even a full day. The benefits are that you get into the swing of things. You’ll become more relaxed and confident on camera. All the equipment is all set up ready to go so there is less time wasted packing up and down. The result will mean you have months of content which means longer times between shoots. Which is good for you and bad for me but I want to see you succeed. The more return you get on your investment then the more you will hire me to produce more video for your company. If we shoot only a couple of videos, you put them out and they don’t get huge engagement then you will feel deflated and that it was a bad investment. However, if you follow the formula and post consistently then you will start to see your engagement grow and customers and clients will get to know you, your brand and your products, whatever it may be that you sell. You will become the authority in your industry because the internet is filled with all your wisdom. Would your potential customers choose a faceless brand with a bland website or would they choose someone who has been popping up in their feed, providing free value that has helped them through their consideration stage of the buyer’s journey? Exactly.

So then, how do you make sure your videos are found on Youtube? After all, there are millions of video’s out there. But, not all video’s are about your particular topic, are they? So that narrows it down. Maybe your potential customers are searching for someone locally? Again, that narrows it down. It’s all to do with keywords. Think about the strongest keywords that represent your business and what you provide. For example, my keywords are Video Production Sydney, videographer Sydney, video marketing Sydney, corporate video Sydney and photographer Sydney. You can see I drop Sydney into it a lot as I want to pull in the local market. Try not to overdo your keywords. Keep them spread throughout your video. Once you have shot your video get it transcribed and use the transcription text to paste into the youtube description. This will take everything you have said and say to Google, “Hey look, this is what this video is all about, let’s show it to people who are searching for this kind of thing!”

So from that simple transcript, you can get three great things out of it:

1. Use the transcript to paste in youtube for keyword SEO domination. 

2. Add subtitle’s to your video. This will not only help viewers who may be hard of hearing but it will also increase engagement times as it has been proven that people watch videos for longer that have captions/subtitles. 

3. Use the transcript to paste into a blog. This is a great starting point as it can sometimes be difficult to find the time to sit down and pump out blog content. I have just recently started a 60-day blog challenge where I will write 60 blogs in 60 days. Some days I will write more than one blog to make up for the other days where I am too busy. The reason I am doing this is once your website has 75 blogs on it, you will see an exponential increase in visitors yo your website as that is Google’s magic number for blog content. It shows them that you are a serious player. I am a videographer and photographer. I am not a writer but these are things I need to do to increase my SEO domination over my competitors. The beauty is I can talk about video tips until the cows come home so it’s all about what I mentioned. Shoot, transcribe, paste, blog, done!
