I have shot my video, now what? Global Video Production & Photogr

Congratulations on shooting a video! You have taken your first step into a larger world! You have seen the potential in reaching a huge audience that is targeted to what you offer! So fingers crossed your video is good and you are happy with it? If you have been following my blog you should have picked up some tips along the way. We have shot hundreds of corporate videos, events, music videos, brand promotion and training in Sydney so we know what works. We know what people want to watch and what they will engage with. We might be based in Sydney but we have filmed worldwide and pushed out content to a global audience.

So let’s say your video is sitting there ready to go. What do you do with it? First of all. Do you have your audience defined? This should have been done before you even started the video. If you don’t know who you are speaking to then how can you engage with them at a level and tone that makes them want to buy from you?

Let’s start with the basics.

Upload to Youtube.

Youtube isn’t just for bloggers and funny cat videos. It’s the worlds second biggest search engine behind Google. Create a playlist and start uploading your videos into these by order of relevance. I film a lot of video marketing tips so I put them all into this playlist. I keep my viewers locked into my content for longer as videos from other sources won’t keep popping up to entice them away. Look at the screenshot below to see how I dominate so much space. I also take the transcript from the video and paste it into the video description section. Just think of all that SEO power and we are only just getting started! Google also loves Youtube. Have you ever noticed how Youtube videos pop up at the top of Google searches? Its the perfect way to get onto page one of Google! By doing this you also look like an expert and an authority in your field.

Youtube now plays ads out on TVs. THIS. IS. MASSIVE! You can now get your video advert on a full-size TV, targeted at exactly what your audience is interested in. Normal TV ads cost hundreds of thousands and are a gamble on whether the right people will see it. You can now get your content in front of families who are watching on their smart TV at home for less than $100. Obviously the more you spend the more reach you get but the cost is still so fractional compared to traditional methods. I might write a separate blog just about this subject as it’s so groundbreaking.

Facebook

Facebook is an extremely powerful tool also. Once you have got past your friends and family your reach pretty much dies out. You need to pay for Facebook ads if you really want to get your content seen. The beauty is that the algorithms allow you to show your content to the people who matter. As above, the more you pay, the bigger the reach. You need to make sure your offer and message are clear. It’s no use just throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks. You can use data from Facebook to identify your client persona based on the visitors who have already been on your page. This can give you sniper accuracy to target the people who matter to you. Facebook is also linked to Instagram so your ads can reach even more eyes.

Instagram

Instagram won’t suit every business. If you are a corporate office then your clients may not use Instagram. But if your target audience uses Instagram then get all over it! It’s the perfect platform to show what your business is all about. Post ads, post photos of your products, show behind the scenes of what you are up to. Instagram stories have become extremely powerful and are a great way to get in front of the competition. Use music and fun gifs to show off your company’s personality. Use Instagram TV for more long-form videos. Ask your videographer to create the video format based on the platforms that you will be using.

Linkedin

I never posted on Linkedin until about a year ago. Now it’s my number one source for generating new clients. It doesn’t all have to be business-related either. We are all human beings who want to deal with other human beings. Linkedin has become so much more than people in suits posting stats. Its the ultimate business to business platform. Show off your personality. Show your family and be real. People will want to do business with you the more human you are.

The key with all these platforms is to post to each social platform individually. Don’t just post to youtube and copy and paste the link on Linkedin. Each platform loves its own content and will reward you by putting your content in front of more people.
