How to generate leads on autopilot? Proven Strategies for Success

We are all so busy running our businesses and living our daily lives that finding new leads can be a challenge. So what if I told you that there is a tried and tested way to generate leads on autopilot?

I have been running my business for 10 years and I can’t believe I never did this sooner. After all, I push this to my clients and they have seen great results. For that reason, I decided to finally give it a go.

So what’s the trick?

It’s all about giving value, consistently. Every Tuesday I post a #Tuesdaytip on Linkedin. It’s a video of myself speaking directly to the camera and giving a piece of advice. The video is usually around one minute long and is square formatted with a strong headline and subtitles at the bottom.

Attention-Grabbing Headlines!

A headline that starts with “How” always grabs attention. People love to learn and if you have a way to help solve their problem then they will be very grateful. If you keep providing them with consistent value then they will want to give you something back in return. They will feel obliged to help you somehow. This can come in the form of a referral to a new client or even better, work with you directly.

Your secret sauce?

Now one of the common concerns my clients have is that if they give away their secrets then the clients won’t need to work with them. Remember how I said earlier how busy people are? Well, even if you show people how to do something, chances are, they will just get you to do it for them as they are just too busy.

I have a perfect example of this that I experienced myself a couple of months ago. I was doing some training to be qualified to fly my drone. Part of the course was to put together a flight manual. This featured flight logs, technical and safety operations. It was an evolving booklet that needed to be updated annually.

The trainers actually did a video explaining how to go through and update this booklet yourself. It was all there laid out step by step. But under the video they said, or we could do it for you for $300.

So there it was in front of me, laid out but I decided to pay them to do it. Why? Because they where the experts at it. They had put themselves forward as the authority in the industry. The time that it would have taken me to work through the video and update the booklet myself was more than $300. I have a business to run and don’t have time to put aside to sit down and work through something like that. Yes, there will be clients that do have the time to do something like that but you will pull them in through another avenue as you have given them value. You have saved them $300! So when you put out an offer a different time for your services they will likely take you up on it seeing as technically they are $300 better off anyway.

Blogging.

The beauty of recording so many consistent videos is you can also turn them into blogs. Get the videos transcribed and use the text as the basis for your blog. The keywords used in your videos are perfect to boost your SEO. This means more leads for your business not only from social media but from the web too. This blog you are reading came from one of my videos. The videos will be a lot shorter than the blog so use the text from the video as a skeleton and flesh out the blog from there.

Getting to know you.

Another huge bonus to putting out consistent videos is that leads get to know you without ever meeting you. It takes eight hours before someone decides whether to do business with you. By you consistently showing up on social media, prospects are spending time with you without spending time with you. How many meetings have you been to that didn’t really lead anywhere?

I have experienced this first hand and it gave me a real boost to keep on pushing forward with it. I had two meetings lined up in a local coffee shop. Literally back to back. The first meeting, the prospect had seen my videos online and the second hadn’t seen any. The first meeting, I walked in and the prospect waved at me across the cafe as he knew my face so well. I sat down and the connection was instantly warm and welcoming. He even said to me that he felt like he already knew me. The meeting was a great success and we are now working together consistently.

Meeting number 2 who had not seen my videos was very different. It started with the awkward, are you Gareth? Are you blah blah routine? After having to check their face a couple of times on Linkedin before the meeting! Then the meeting itself felt like a heavy train slowly trying to leave the station. I had to explain what I did and my experience etc and it just made the whole meeting very slow and sluggish. The two comparisons completely blew me away and since that day I have been surging forward and creating content.

Ready to go?

So in conclusion, it’s a no brainer. Producing quality, consistent content and giving nothing but value will generate leads for your business whilst you sleep. Obviously, you need to do the initial work of creating the content but its evergreen content that can be used over and over again.
