The biggest hurdle that my clients face, (before they start working with me that is), is that they don’t know what sort of videos to film. They know that they need to be regularly posting video content but they just don’t know where to start. So with that in mind, I have compiled a list of the top seven videos that you could be filming today in order to feed that hungry social media beast and boost your business.
Behind the scenes
This is an easy one to get started. By filming behind the scenes videos you can give your customers a sneak peek into how your business works. Your viewers will feel special that you have let them into your world. It will give your brand a personality as they get to know you and your staff. If you aren’t confident on camera then this is a great way to ease into it. Start by filming with your phone away from you. Give a running commentary of what the viewer is seeing. When you are ready, turn that phone around and face the camera. You will soon feel at ease and then when you hire a professional video production company you will be calm and confident and you’ll be happy with the results when you see the final piece. There is nothing worse than receiving the final and hating how you came across on camera. You don’t want to cringe when you post a video. You want to feel proud to share it everywhere!
Educational Videos
Educational videos can be used for two purposes. To educate potential customers about your product or brand or to educate your own staff on current training and policies. By educating customers you are helping them along their buyer’s journey. By offering your wisdom and solutions to their problems you are cementing yourself as an authority. When the time comes for them to make a purchase you can guarantee that your business will at the top of their list. Educating staff allows you to roll out videos that be dispersed internally or externally across your business. By educating your staff you are guaranteeing a better experience for your customers as your staff member may be the only interaction that a consumer has with your product or brand. You can create a video that applies to both customers and staff at the same time. This saves you time and increases your return on investment.
Entertaining Videos
People love humour. It’s the most shared type of video on the internet. So if you are willing to try something different and think outside the box then this could be for you. What makes your business different? I recently completed a video for a data-gathering software company. Now that doesn’t sound the most exciting but for their video, they wanted to try something different and boy was it different! The results were incredible and catapulted them ahead of their competitors as the leaders in their field. I’ll be writing a whole blog on the shoot soon but I’ll just tease that some of the props used were a parachute, a baseball bat and a harp!
Event Videos
Now at the time of writing this, we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. But, event videos are still hugely popular. It is the best way to generate interest for future events. The beauty of an event is that we shoot lots of content. That means that you have access to heaps of footage that be edited into all sorts of snippets. You can have a major hero piece. Shorter punchier film trailer style videos. 15-second teasers for social media. The list goes on. Some of my clients are moving their events online. This has meant us capturing a mixture of footage and live streaming action. We are also photographers at Exposed Wolf so you get the best of both worlds when you work with us.
Explainer Videos
These are similar to educational videos but they tend to focus on a fictional character who has a problem that needs solving. The problems they face will be based around your target audiences main problems. We follow the character and see how your product or brand helped them to overcome their troubles and live happily ever after. It’s the relatability factor that works well in these videos. Plan your video strategy around your customer’s needs. Be clear with your solution and watch as the sales start flooding in.
Testimonial Videos
People don’t like to read text anymore! So thanks for reading this blog so far. You are one of the good ones! So if a customer lands on your website and they are hit with a bunch of blurb about how great your company is. Chances are, they won’t bother reading it. Sorry. Consumers also don’t trust written testimonials as you are never sure who has really written it. A video testimonial never fails! I have a blog just on this here if you are interested? Video testimonials build trust and confidence in your potential buyer. To have another human recommending your service is a powerful tool to have in your arsenal. So any clients that you have a great relationship with. Buy them a bottle of wine and get them to hop on camera. We recommend organising a bulk shoot and get all your clients in on one day. It also a great chance for a networking session where they can talk about how great your business is!
FAQ Videos
Last but not least, frequently asked questions. The beauty of FAQ’s is that you have all the content already there for you. Maybe you have faqs on your website? Turn them into videos. Customers are more likely to watch them rather than trudging through all the other FAQ’s. Are your sales team sick of answering the same questions over and over? It’s wasting their time and resources when they could be making sales! Get them to write down all the main questions that they get. Then organise a shoot with a video production company and pump out all the answers in bulk. This will help with your SEO domination as your keywords will represent what your customers are typing! If you need help with that side of things we can also help out with that too. We’re nice like that!
So that is your top seven that you can think about doing today. I hope this gives you some clarity and acts as a starting point. Video marketing isn’t easy and takes time to grow. It’s about a farming mentality, not a hunting one.
